Why Handmade Soap?
True soaps are the result of a chemical reaction between fats, (vegetable or animal), a liquid, and lye. Combined, they transform into soap and glycerin with no lye remaining in the soap. This process is called saponification.
In the manufacturing process, most commercial soaps have their glycerin removed, processed and sold to other industries to be used in pharmaceuticals, food and other products. Handmade soap retains all its skin-loving, moisturizing glycerin.
We use only food quality vegetable oils and natural ingredients, sustainably grown and organic when possible. And we use essential oils to add delicious scents, botanicals and natural clays for color, and their therapeutic properties.
We experiment, make test batches, take copious notes and tweak our formulas until we believe we have the very best soap for a healthy you and a healthy earth.
